STAFF ACCOUNTANT for Established, Growing Marketing and Web Development Firm
LOCATION: In Greenwich, CT vicinity

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Performs many accounting functions including but not limited to journal entries, preparation of supporting schedules, compiling of financial statements (balance sheet, statement of income, statement of cash flows) and related data. Analyzes and reviews financial information for accuracy as well as trends. Participate in the Long-Range Plan, Opportunity/Risk and Annual Budget processes to varying degrees.
The right candidate will need to work independently and be capable of working with cross-disciplinary project teams, bringing energy and creativity while adhering to deadlines and managing project financials. A highly organized, proactive, and strategic thinker who adds value to the organization will flourish in the position.
Reporting Relationships:
Reports to President and VP of Operations
Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for various Accounting functions:
· Perform monthly closing duties, produce required reports
· Manage AP/AR documents and process
· Resolve discrepancies and handle client and vendor queries
· Process and post deposits to bank accounts
· Reconcile outstanding checks; process 1099’s
· Applies principles of Accounting to analyze financial information and to prepare financial reports
· Analyzes information detailing assets, liabilities, and profit and loss statements
· Collects, summarizes, and interprets financial data to prepare journal entries
· Works on audit and special projects, as requested.
· Interfaces with Client Services Directors to collect, verify, and provide financial data
· Assist with annual and monthly budget process and reports
· Assist with maintenance of customer database
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful candidates will possess the following:
Experience and Educational Background
· Bachelor`s Degree in Accounting
· Three to five years Accounting experience in a public or private firm, or the equivalent required (will consider strong entry-level candidates)
· Solid understanding of general accounting principles
Technology and Application Skills
· Expert knowledge of Excel, QuickBooks Enterprise, QuickBooks Pro
· Very strong aptitude for business software applications, including proficiency with billing, general ledger, and spreadsheet programs
· High skill level with MS Word, Outlook and Access
Communication and Professional Skills
· Excellent communication skills
· Strong analytical and organizational skills
· Strong attention to detail
· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels of an organization
· Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-oriented environment
· Highly motivated, energetic individual with strong ethic and commitment to quality
